Webster

Webster came to us thru the act of love.
During his time with us, he gave us unconditional love.

And for the love of him, we had to let him go.

Webster's first family, Nancy, was dying of a heart condition and wanted to make sure he had a home to go to. We are so glad we were able to provide that for him.

As you know, rescues can come with issues. Webster's only issue was his innate need to protect us from anyone who came into our home; yet outside of there he loved all that greeted him. especially his groomers. Based on his size, many individuals would not enter our home because of Webster's bark. Little did they know (even though we tried to tell them) he had a big bark and no bite. He was a gentle giant, completely devoted to us. Webster would always greet us at the front door, cuddle on the couch and alert us to any sound. We joked that if a leaf fell outside, he would hear it and bark. He also loved to cuddle with his Panda Bear. Almost every evening, he would pick Pandy up, turn him upside down, place a paw on either side of him and suck on his butt. We said it was his meditation time of the day. He and Kissy (our other OES) had a brother-sister bond. They were jealous of the other getting attention, pushing the other away or barking to get your attention. They would also provide loving gestures like grooming one another. After getting a drink, Webster always went over to Kissy and she would lick the water off his muzzle. We said he was giving her a drink as well. As big as he was, in his earlier years he was very agile. He could jump up on our extra high bed with ease and would walk on the ledge of our patio wall without fear of falling.

It was hard seeing Webster age. The last 9 months of his life he required help to stand and had difficulty going up and down stairs. His last few days, we think he had a stroke which impacted his ability to walk and control his bodily functions. For our love of him, we decided we had to let him go.

Webster has left loving paw prints on our hearts along with our other OESs: Annie, Alex, Haley, Boomer and Mallory. We're sure he has joined them on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge and is playing with them like a puppy again. We also know he has re-united with Nancy and is waiting for us to join him someday. Until then, he is always in our thoughts and hearts. You are so loved doodle bug.
