Our TOESR family wants to extend most heartfelt condolences to Carol and Charlie on the loss of Spencer. TOESR brought Spencer into our program years ago and he was fostered by our then-events coordinator, Carol Solomon. It didn't take long for her to become infatuated with this huge fella and subsequently, she 'failed' foster 101! Later, Carol lost an ongoing battle with cancer but one of her main concerns was making sure that Spencer always be cared for as she would have wanted. Ironically, Spencer's new mom was also a 'Carol' and Spencer took to Carol and Charlie immediately. Time passed and Spencer, who'd always been such a big fella, had more and more medical issues. Carol and Charlie gave him such a great life, loved him and made sure that he had everything he needed medically. In the end, it was simply Spencer's time to leave. Spencer was the subject for years of some of our best photos, and became the 'face' of TOESR in numerous calendars and website/Facebook shots. His story has come full circle and he'll be missed by all of us.
