Molly - Adopted!
Lolly came to us along with another dog as an owner turn in. Both dogs were the victims of apparent neglect and
were neither being sheltered, fed or receiving any sort of human contact. They'd once been indoor dogs and I'm sure
were confused about their outdoor status. With some heavy duty cleaning and shaving by Pete, both dogs were brought down
to 'square one' again and began to receive constant attention. Malnourished, not altered and infested with internal parasites,
Lolly was vetted and spayed. We worked with her to retrain her to housebreaking and she responded well. She was ready
for a new home and a new life.
Gina Rickman had entered my life quite a while back and we'd become friends due to a sad event in her life. Her OES,
Curry, had been failing healthwise and eventually had to be released. Knowing all too well those types of experiences
myself, we set out mutually to find another dog to be the recipient of her love. With the intent of meeting both dogs,
Gina drove for a day (with some detours) to do just that! I think it was love at first sight. And it helped that Gina's husband's
dog, Marlin, who accompanied her, was tolerant of Lolly as well.
With promises to let us know how things were progressing, Gina, Marlin and Lolly,(renamed Molly) drove off for the long ride
home. We've heard since that Molly has been having a blast, playing with Marlin and the rest of the neighborhood dogs that
come to visit. Thanks so much to Gina for taking Molly to heart and giving her a wonderful home. Curry would be happy to see
this transition, I'm sure!
