Roxie came to us with a history of uncaring owners that allowed her to be found in and out of various shelters throughout her young life. With much help from caring animal rescuers and shelter personnel, Roxie came to Tarheel OES Rescue and found herself in 'doggie heaven' with Tammy Benson's crew! Tammy reported that Roxie acted 'like a prisoner experiencing her first freedom in a long time!'

Quite a few folks were taken with Roxie, being the great girl that she is, but we found the perfect match with Bernie and Natalie, who had experienced their own trials with trying to find a companion for their own Cosmo! Taking all things into consideration, we felt Roxie would thrive with her new family.

To date, we've had reports that all is well and that Roxie and Cosmo are getting along famously. We look forward to hearing more about Roxie as she progresses and enjoys her new family. Thanks go out to Bernie and Natalie for giving another rescue dog a chance at a better life!
