We first learned about Howie when the call came in to rescue that there was an OES at a kill shelter. Poor Howie had bite marks under his eye and through both ears, and even on his nose where he had been attacked by other dogs. These wounds were infected and required extensive treatment. The pictures shown here were taken after a week of treatment had already passed.

Howie spent time with foster care acclimating himself to people and dogs again as well as gaining some much needed weight and growing a beautiful new coat.

Howie's transformation from the injured emaciated animal into a beautiful family pet is truly a Rescue For the Ages.
