Franklin

Franklin found his way to TOESR due to a very reluctant owner release. His situation was unique in that, along with Eleanor, Franklin was one of a pair of sheepdogs (lovingly nicknamed the Roosevelts) that we wanted to place together. While Eleanor was deaf, Franklin also came with a situation that demanded a specific family who was willing to be patient with him. Franklin, due to a stressful and changing home environment, needed to take anxiety medicine. His owner felt that once in a calmer situation, that need would diminish for him. As with Eleanor there were any number of applicants for one or the other dog but no one who wanted both. Miraculously, a family who was intrigued with the pair, stepped up and was excited about adopting both. The rest is history! We want to thank Erin for her trust, Suzanne for being an outstanding facilitator and most particularly to Cathy, Patrick and their family for wanting to give Mr Franklin a loving home. This placement has been an adventure and very rewarding. Both dogs are getting along remarkably well and are very much loved! (As an aside, Eleanor has been trained to react to sign language and while she learned, so did Franklin, who mimics her reactions!)
