Shaggy

TOESR was contacted by a concerned family member regarding an OES they felt wasn't getting the care and attention he needed. To make matters a bit more concerning, the dog was being housed outside in a Winter environment and was at risk due to extreme temperature levels. We were lucky enough to have a volunteer within striking distance who was willing to try to make a drive to pick Shaggy up, even with pending winter snow/ice storms.

After he was in our care, we still needed to have him vetted and unfortunately found that even with cleaning this fella up and updating his shots, he had heartworms. Luckily, our foster family had becomed attached to Shaggy and stepped up to take care of him during his lengthy heartworm treatments.

Eventually, Shaggy's health had improved and as is the case, if a foster home wants to adopt their foster dog, we find it only fair to allow them to do so. So, while we had numerous adoption applications for a new home for Shaggy, he's now firmly ensconced with George and Madeline, along with their other TOESR dog, Albert! Thanks so much to both George and Madeline for opening their hearts and home to another rescue, one who deserves to have a great life moving forward!
