Madie Sue

Madie Sue came to TOESR as a regretful owner release. When we initially met Madie Sue she was grossly overweight, tipping the scales at 129 lbs when her frame should have been supporting a 75-80 lb dog. Due to her obesity, she was barely able to walk and had damaged the ligaments in one of her legs to the extent that surgery was in her future once healthy enough. She was also having difficulties breathing.

Luckily for us, Madie Sue has had two of the best foster parents she could have wanted. Not only did they monitor her diet, but they worked out an extensive walking regime for her. It worked! The weight immediately started to come off, and with the lesser weight, her leg improved, and Madie Sue no longer needs surgery. Most importantly, Madie Sue once again began to have the quality if life she needed to have.

Since so much time and effort went into rehabilitating Madie Sue, we all wanted the perfect home for her. Madie Sue attended the annual TOESR picnic where she immediately became the 'star of the show'. And by the end of the day, Madie Sue had not one, but two prospective families! Madie Sue has begun her new life with Laurie and Tom, who are committed to continuing to monitor her weight and make sure she leads a healthy life and is happy and loved.

There are so many people instrumental in bringing Madie Sue full circle. Bonnie, Dena, Tessa, the staff at Forsyth Vet Hospital and of course Ray and Betsy. Now we depend on Laurie and Tom to send us good reports on Madie Sue; such a wonderful rescue story!
