Joe and Scoop

Joe and Scoop's story is one of a truly successful rescue attempt! TOESR was contacted by a compassionate 'caretaker' who had been given the authority by their owner to place both dogs with rescue in an attempt to give them a better life. When we picked them up, they had never been vetted, ridden in a car, never been on a leash, never groomed, were somewhat malnourished and (needless to say) were living in less than perfect conditions. In other words, they were a mess! Unfortunately both dogs were diagnosed with heartworms and began their lengthy and expensive treatment. After successful completion they were neutered and deemed ready to go to a new home. We'd had the request that both dogs (father and son) be placed together - a tall order to fill.

We were contacted by a home that was willing to give both dogs a chance together at a new and much better life. Joe and Scoop went to their new home recently and by all accounts are progressing. We have so many people to thank for this successful adoption: Ross, Pete, the entire staff at Forsyth Veterinary Hospital and last but definitely not least, to Ron and Dru for giving the daring duo a chance at the life that we wish for all our dogs. We hope to hear only good things about Joe and Scoop in the future. It's definitely been a collective effort.
