Amelia

Amelia's story is a long one. From the time TOESR became involved with her there has been a virtual army of people instrumental in her journey with us. We were first contacted about Amelia when her status was that of a 'feral' sheepdog on the loose. After concentrated efforts by quite a few volunteers, Amelia was captured and transitioned to her foster home.

Things took an unexpected turn when Amelia 'escaped' and once again became feral. We don't have a clear picture of Amelia's past life but would assume that she at one time had been an indoor dog but sadly was abused and comes with some major trust issues. After quite a bit of drama - even for a rescue - Amelia was adopted. That placement wasn't successful, however, and Amelia needed to be re-adopted. Again through the efforts of countless volunteers, we're now happy to report that Amelia is on her way to being the wonderful companion dog that we all thought she could be. The list is long.

Thanks first to Sally and her crew, to Sue and Gary and an entire neighborhood for their collective endeavors, to two separate animal control offices, to Sydie and Mark, and in particular to Kerry and Tracy for all their help. But most of all, a special thanks to Holly for her willingness to give an 'issues' dog a chance at a normal life. Holly reports that even though it's been a short while, Amelia is adjusting and we are all crossing our fingers that this time we can report only good things for Amelia's future. Again, you can all be proud of yourselves. Many thanks!
