Maggie - Adopted!
Now we live in Texas, but we have cars. We do not ride horses. You
remember us: First we had Angel Mama Carol. Then Anabel still had Mama
Carol, and Maggie got Mama Sue. Then we had to go to the doctor a lot and we
had to get strong enough to run and jump. Then we took a long car ride (and
we love car rides) to Memphis.
On the trip to Memphis, we learned some Elvis songs. We were pretty
good. and our favorite was 'Hound dog'. Maggie got some Elvis glasses, and
we were singing our song and people were asking for our pawtographs and
giving us money. Everything was going fine until Anabel got very excited and
started making her silly howl. Then people knew she wasn't Priscilla, and
the gig was over.
So then we met our Forever Mama Linda. She came to adopt us and to take
us back to Texas. She had a REALLY BIG car, and then we knew for sure she
was from Texas. (Everything's big in Texas.) So we got in her car with our
toys and our leashes and our snacks. Mama Linda had bones ready for us in
our travel crates. They were so yummy. The next day we drove a long time to
Texas, and we didn't even sing our Elvis songs because we didn't want any
howling to scare our new mom.
When we got to our new house we met our brothers, Crewzer and Tuffer.
They are boy sheepdogs. You know that sometimes boys are stupid. When that
happens we call them Loser and Duffer. But mostly they are very fun, and we
get to run with them all the time. We also have some fat cats that live at
our new house, and we have a cockatoo that is named Ellie. (We told that
bird that if she pecks our fur, we will call her Smelly!)
We get to snuggle with Forever Mama Linda and Pop Mike. Pop Mike is not
the same thing as popcorn. But Pop Mike has corny jokes for us. When he
tells them, we laugh and we roll on our backs like those jokes are so funny
that we can't stop laughing. Then while we are on our backs, we can get some
belly rubs. (So that is one of our sneaky girl tricks.)
Sometimes all four of us sheepdogs get to go in the big Excursion. That
is so fun. Then we tease all the poodles and cocker spaniels that we see in
traffic. We say, 'We are 4 big fluffy sheepdogs, and you are not!' Mama
Linda says we should be nice, but we think she is very proud to have so many
beautiful sheepdogs.
So, we are very happy in our new forever home, and we want to say thank
you to everyone at TOESR who helped us.
Love,
Maggie and Anabel
P.S. You already have the picture of our Elvis and Priscilla act. We will
send you pawtographs if you want
