Bear - Adopted!

Bear and Dolly were more casualties of the financial situation here in the southeast. The dogs' prior owner actually had to give them both up but wanted to make sure they were well taken care of and loved. Due to his trust in a 'friend' who promised to keep the dogs but turned them into a high-kill shelter, we were notified by some very diligent rescue volunteers who worked miracles to get the dogs and transport them to safety. Tammy Benson then made a trek to pick the dogs up and fostered them both until we could find the perfect home. To add to the difficulty factor however, both dogs were very much attached to each other so we wanted a home that would accept two rescues.

Luckily for Bear and Dolly, Bonnie Wheeler came into the picture. She appeared out of nowhere basically, right here locally and had always owned OES in pairs. Having just recently lost her last dog, life just wasn't the same without big fuzzies underfoot.

After the required vet check and home visit (where I absolutely fell in love with Bonnie and her home and begged her to adopt ME), the dogs were ready to go to their new home. Both Bear and Dolly are now in their new home and are very much loved.

We expect to see all three at the picnic this Fall and we can't wait to hear progress reports!

Thanks to Bonnie for her love of the breed and willingness to take both dogs.
